New Health Rankings for Jacksonville, FL

The Florida Department of Health has released new health rankings for Florida including Duval County. You can read the full release here. While the rankings for areas are up, the move is only minor. The overall situation for diabetics or obesity are not included, and as the statistics can take a year to go up on the Department of Health website.

Through 2016, however, preventable hospitalization among the 65+ population is significantly higher than Florida overall. Adults told they have Prediabetes for 2016 is 10.7% for Duval County versus 9.4% for Florida overall. The average age when an adult was diagnosed with Diabetes for Duval county is 44.7 years. The rate of death due to diabetes has been in a downward trend, though!
